XG-100P
Continuing the theme of using dmr.wiki to compile radio information not related to DMR... (sigh)
Feature sets
Viewing
This is actually way easier than in Motorolas. With the radio on, press "Menu", and then go to Util (pressing 9 on the keypad does the same), then Feature Info (5 on the keypad), and press enter. Boom!
Feature List
See https://store.newlondontechnology.com/PDFs/FEATURE%20LIST.pdf for the full list. Some seem like they might not apply.
Here are the ones I've seen, with some explanations.
Wideband
Sort of like ASTRO25 radios that have a 12.5 kHz Mandate Flashcode "feature" (that's really a restriction), feature 58 is "Wideband Disable" on the Unity radios. This will permit only narrowband channels. Not cool for those of us using ham stuff.
| Number | Name | Remarks |
|---|---|---|
| 09 | Type 99 Encode/Decode | "Type 99" is two-tone paging, a la Motorola's QuickCall. |
| 11 | Preamp | I'm not positive if this is really supported on portables? |
| 12 | Digital voice | It is unclear how this differs from "P25 Conventional" (33)? |
| 16 | P25 Data | |
| 33 | P25 Conventional (CAI) | |
| 35 | OTAR (P25) | Over the air rekeying |
| 37 | Encryption | AES 256 |
| 39 | P25 Trunking | See also 47 for Phase 2/TDMA |
| 42 | VHF | 136-174 MHz |
| 43 | UHF | Full 380-520 split |
| 44 | 700/800 | |
| 45 | DES-CFB | Appears to be DES on analog channels? |
| 47 | Vote Scan | |
| 47 | Phase II | Enables Phase II (TDMA) P25 trunking. Presumably requires general trunking feature. |
| 48 | GPS | Enables GPS module |
| 49 | Bluetooth | Enables Bluetooth module |
| 50 | Wideband disable | Bad! This makes the radio only support narrowband, which is annoying for ham/GMRS. |
| 51 | MDC1200 | Enables encode/decode of radio IDs. Does not seem to support DOS muting. :( |
| 55 | Link layer authentication | |
| 57 | TSBK on analog | Enables "Enhanced ID" |
| 59 | P25 EDATA | |
| 60 | P25 InBand GPS |
